To get more practice in algebra, we brought you this problem of the week:

How would you find the factors of \(12{p}^{2}-16p+5\)?

Check out the solution below!

\[12{p}^{2}-16p+5\]

1
Split the second term in \(12{p}^{2}-16p+5\) into two terms.
\[12{p}^{2}-6p-10p+5\]

2
Factor out common terms in the first two terms, then in the last two terms.
\[6p(2p-1)-5(2p-1)\]

3
Factor out the common term \(2p-1\).
\[(2p-1)(6p-5)\]
