To get more practice in algebra, we brought you this problem of the week:

How can we factor \({q}^{2}-14q+49\)?

Check out the solution below!

\[{q}^{2}-14q+49\]

1
Rewrite it in the form \({a}^{2}-2ab+{b}^{2}\), where \(a=q\) and \(b=7\).
\[{q}^{2}-2(q)(7)+{7}^{2}\]

2
Use Square of Difference: \({(a-b)}^{2}={a}^{2}-2ab+{b}^{2}\).
\[{(q-7)}^{2}\]
