Multiplication Distributive Property

Reference > Algebra: Exponents

Description

The Multiplication Distributive Property states that:

\({(xy)}^{a}={x}^{a}{y}^{a}\)
Examples
\[{(2x)}^{4}\]
1
Use Multiplication Distributive Property: \({(xy)}^{a}={x}^{a}{y}^{a}\).
\[{2}^{4}{x}^{4}\]

2
Simplify  \({2}^{4}\)  to  \(16\).
\[16{x}^{4}\]
